PRN Midwife (help as needed) & Birth Center Nurse

Jaya joins our practice from the sunny state of Florida. She is a Certified Nurse Midwife who completed her undergraduate studies in both Florida and Oklahoma, followed by completion of a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Florida in 2010.  Go Gators!!!

Jaya is passionate about growing healthy families by building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and providing quality midwifery services: prenatal care, primary care and breastfeeding support. She is very passionate about reducing the maternal/infant disparities for women of color, especially for African American women; who are most affected.  Being a midwife has given her the opportunity to witness and support the profound empowerment and transformation of women to embrace their own strength/beauty/fullness within.

During her spare time, Jaya enjoys reading, cooking, running, learning Spanish, gardening, and Latin dancing.
